Jessica’s work is where stories are. She is invested in tilling the soil where learning and liberation might be found. She feels called to be a companion to those who are enroute to freedom and has led youth work for 16 years as one site of revolutionary action. Elders, community, Spirit, the University of Florida, Georgia State, and Howard University have been her teachers. Her work lives at the intersection of learning and movement, where training & learning, youth work, spiritual work, and justice make her feel at home. She currently spends most of her days training an emerging generation of freedom fighters, water protectors, activists, and movement kin through The Management Center. In her other work, she accompanies young people on their spiritual journeys, and tends to spaces where justice is a healing property. To know her, is to know that she laughs deeply, studies voraciously, plays afrobeats incessantly, and thrifts adoringly.
