Brian Gómez is a lifelong learner and is passionate about the way knowledge and education combined in unique ways can turn into meaningful action. He has had a decade of experience working and building the infrastructure to support young people that are passionate about climate change at organizations like the Sierra Club, the Sunrise Movement, and others. Through this work he has advocated at the local, national, and international level at places like the World Bank, the UN, and the White House. Brian serves on the Board of Directors at SustainUS and Earth Guardians, and formerly at the Sierra Club. Brian is passionate about economic policy and increasing access and lowering barriers for people affected by injustice to lead. He’s been recognized as a 30 under 30 awardee by the NAAEE for his work in environmental education and has been a contributor to the annual npEXPERTS® eBook by Blackbaud. He holds a B.S in Social and Economic Development Policy and a minor in Applied Economics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He grew up in Mexico City and lives in Chicago where he spends time reading and writing, staying active, and eating good food.
