Description

Managers who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) face specific issues as leaders – issues that result from racism, classism, sexism, and other forms of oppression. This cohort is designed to provide a common space for BIPOC managers to learn a wide range of effective management strategies and share practices that help managers of color thrive.

This training, specifically for BIPOC managers, is a compilation of Managing to Change the World and several Skill Builders with additional content on race and power dynamics.

You’ll leave ready to:

  • Level the playing field for marginalized staff

  • Delegate projects and responsibilities effectively

  • Build strong manager-staff relationships

  • Give effective and actionable feedback

  • Develop your staff and address performance problems equitably

  • Clearly define roles to hand off big responsibilities

  • Develop strategic goals that yield measurable progress and strengthen equity and inclusion

  • Work more effectively with your own manager

  • Recognize the impact of internalized oppression and practice effective ways to show up as your authentic self
