Monna is an expert wrangler of people, words, and ideas. She has been TMC’s Chief Content Officer since 2020 and co-authored TMC’s Management in a Changing World: How to Manage for Equity, Sustainability, and Results.
Monna grew up in Queens, NY and was politicized in New York City’s Chinatown. She launched her career as an electoral organizer, leading teams in Ohio, Maryland, and Maine to win LGBTQ non-discrimination and same-sex marriage. Before coming to TMC, Monna led Lavender Phoenix, an organization that builds trans, non-binary, and queer Asian Pacific Islander power. She also coached and supported leaders of several Asian American social justice organizations as the coordinator of the Asian Americans for Civil Rights and Equality network.
