Sumaiya started her career working in operations at Success Academy Charter Schools where she advocated for education reform and equity for all students. Sumaiya was responsible for overseeing all non-instructional components and building relationships with multiple stakeholders across 4 schools, including the founding and opening of a new middle school. Sumaiya successfully led her operations team to becoming the top performing school in all operation metrics across the entire Success Academy network. Sumaiya was raised in Brooklyn, New York and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Management. She enjoys spending her free time cooking, attending live events, and being a passionate environmentalist.
