Description

This is a version of Managing to Change the World specifically for BIPOC managers, with extra time built in for discussions of navigating race, identity, and power dynamics within our organizations as managers of color. In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Check your own biases and level the playing field for marginalized staff
  • Delegate projects and responsibilities effectively
  • Stay engaged without micromanaging
  • Nurture relationships and belonging on your team
  • Give actionable feedback and develop your staff
  • Address performance problems equitably and manage people out
  • Use clear roles to hand off big responsibilities
  • Direct work with SMARTIE goals
  • Work more effectively with your own manager, and advocate for yourself and your work
  • Recognize the impact of internalized oppression and practice ways to show up as your authentic self
